Tamang heritage trek is a newly opened community-based trekking route in the Langtang Region. This route was opened in 2004 and provides peaceful and undisturbed trekking. This trek provides an unparalleled view of the mountains in the Ganesh and Langtang range as it takes us right up to the Tibetan border and the famous mountain vantage point of Nagthali.
As the name suggests, the highlight of the Tamang Heritage trek is experiencing the way of life of the Tamang people. Tamang culture and way of life are similar to that of Tibetan people. Most Tamangs follow Buddhism and the trail has many monasteries and shrines on the way. We stay mostly in the homestays in beautiful and densely packed Tamang villages. Cultural shows, traditional food, and warm hospitality light up our evening and make up for the pain of the daytime walk. The famous Rasuwagadhi port and natural hot spring in Tatopani also fall on this route.
